Beng Mealea is the Indiana Jones of Angkor Wat. Situated about 80km of Siem Reap, this 12th century temple was utterly subsumed by jungle as nature run riot here.
| We entered Beng Mealea from the south entrance, and passed a library on our right. |
| We wend our way over piles of masonry... |
| ...through a long and dark chambers and between hanging vines... |
| ...to arrive at the central tower, which has completely collapsed. |
| ...among the rubble and foliage are some impressive stone carvings...... it was truely a spectacular sight! |
