Beng Mealea is the Indiana Jones of Angkor Wat. Situated about 80km of Siem Reap, this 12th century temple was utterly subsumed by jungle as nature run riot here.
We entered Beng Mealea from the south entrance, and passed a library on our right. |

We wend our way over piles of masonry... |
...through a long and dark chambers and between hanging vines... |
|
...to arrive at the central tower, which has completely collapsed. |
|
...among the rubble and foliage are some impressive stone carvings...... it was truely a spectacular sight! |
